Beginning Fly Fishing & Casting
Welcome to BEGINNING FLY-FISHING & CASTING Workshops. A hands on workshop designed to help you select the right gear, accessories, and casting skills to get you started so that you may begin fishing with confidence. Class is limited to 10 participants. Location: Cabela’s Sawtooth Room, Boise Location. Class starts at 9:00 a.m. on Saturdays
Intermediate Casting Class
In this workshop, you will need to know the basic fundamentals of fly-fishing, and casting. This workshop will fine tune your casting technique allowing you to change the direction of your cast while fishing to close and distant fish. We’ll show you how to rig, and fish two flies. And how to effectively fish dry flies, nymphs, and streamers using line management, and mending techniques. This is a water course so you will need your waders, boots, fly rod, and vest. Class is limited to 4 participants. Workshops are held on Sunday’s from 2:00pm to 6:00pm
Advanced Casting Techniques
This workshop introduces you to advanced casting techniques enabling you to fish situations never before approached. Now the fun really begins. Your instructor will demonstrate some advanced casting techniques that will help you on those difficult stretches of water. With personal instruction, and practice, you too can master these techniques. Casts include, learning the single haul, double haul, and applying advanced roll casting techniques. These are Spey casts that can be applied to the single hand fly rod. Learn the, single spey, double spey, snap “T”, snake roll, and circle “C” casts that are sure to enhance your fishing experience. Workshops are by appointment only. Limited to 4 participants.
Casting The Spey
A comprehensive, two part workshop on Spey Casting Techniques. Part one covers the classic techniques and principals of the modern spey cast. Part two applies these casting techniques on a river situation. Part two requires waders and boots. Demo rods and reels are available. Limited to 4 participants Workshop dates. Part One. Monday afternoons, 5:30pm to 8:30pm Part Two. Friday afternoons, 5:30pm to 8:30pm
